The Child Support Enforcement Division of the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office is responsible for enforcing child support orders issued by the Orleans Parish Civil District Court. These services are provided through a cooperative agreement between the District Attorney’s Office (OPDA) and the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).
Custodial parents seeking assistance with establishing paternity, obtaining a child support order, or enforcing an existing order should visit the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services website. Child support orders in Orleans Parish are established by Louisiana Child Support Enforcement. For more information and the required documents, visit the DCFS website. Once a support order is established, the case will be transferred to the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office for enforcement.

If the DA’s office is assisting with the enforcement of your case, and you have a LASES number (Louisiana Automated Support Enforcement System), you can obtain information by calling our office, or the State Call Center. The State Call Center can provide recent activity on your child support case. If you need to speak with your caseworker, an email will be sent to them and they will respond to you by telephone within 24-48 hours.
