Reports of criminal activity in Orleans Parish should be directed to the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) or, in certain cases, to the Louisiana State Police (LSP). These primary law enforcement agencies have the resources and authority to initiate criminal investigations for offenses committed in New Orleans.
The Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office also maintains a dedicated team of investigators who work alongside prosecutors to locate witnesses, gather essential documents, and prepare cases for court.
Walk-in appointments, if available, are accepted at the District Attorney’s office at 619 South White St.
