NEW ORLEANS – Last week, the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office (OPDA) secured the conviction of defendant Bryan Andry in the Portia Pollock murder case. After murdering 60-year-old Pollock in June 2021 outside of her home in the 7th Ward, Andry plead guilty to Manslaughter. Sentencing will take place in May 2022.

District Attorney Jason Williams said, “Every senseless killing in our city is horrible, but we all felt a collective shock with the murder of this 60-year-old woman last year. Through the conviction of this defendant, we have secured justice for Ms. Portia Pollock and her family. They can now move forward with closure of this very painful chapter in their lives.”

During the first three months of 2022, the DA’s office has secured a total of 573 convictions via guilty plea for offenses. Last year, despite court closures, OPDA secured over 3500 convictions via guilty plea in over 1700 cases. Our office is laser-focused on prosecuting violent crimes committed in our neighborhoods.
