NEW ORLEANS – Today, District Attorney Jason Williams celebrates one year in office and touts a year of promises made and kept for the people of New Orleans. On January 11, 2021 at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, District Attorney Williams was sworn as District Attorney of Orleans Parish; his commitment to this city was to increase safety, deliver justice and ultimately, create a criminal legal system that serves all people.

District Attorney Jason Williams said, “Today, we make one year in office. One year since each of you spoke loudly calling for change in our city and ultimately, a criminal legal system that was just, fair and served ALL people. Despite COVID court closures and legacy challenges, my team and I have been hard at work to deliver each of the promises we made to you. And while we are proud of the many successes we have made, the truth is it is simply impossible to fix centuries of a broken criminal legal system in one year. I ask that you continue to lean forward with us in our unwavering fight to create a criminal legal system that is fair, just and serves all people. Together, we can and will do this.”
