District Attorney Jason Williams Calls for Public’s Help to Apprehend Human Trafficking Fugitive

New Orleans, LA – March 28, 2025 – Today, Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams issued a public appeal for assistance in locating Antonio Raemone Lewis, a fugitive wanted in connection with horrific sex crimes and human trafficking. Lewis, 36, is accused of trafficking a minor in Indiana and is believed to be in our region now, where he has known ties.

“We are here today to ask for the public’s help in locating a dangerous fugitive who has committed unspeakable crimes to a young girl,” said District Attorney Jason Williams. “Human trafficking is one of the most heinous offenses we face, and this suspect must be found before he has the chance to harm anyone else.”

DA Williams was joined by Chief Michelle Woodfork, OPDA’s Director of Digital Forensics, and Holly Friedman, who serves as OPDA’s Open Source Intel. Task Force Project Manager. Together they will turn over every digital rock to find this fugitive and expose anyone who aids and abets him. He also acknowledged Special Victims Unit Chief Michelle Jones, who serves as OPDA’s representative on the regional Human Trafficking Task Force, who will bird-dog our efforts here.

DA Williams committed his office’s full assistance to the U.S. Marshal Service, who is leading the search for Lewis.

“I want to express my full support of U.S. Marshal Brian Fair. Marshal Fair takes the safety of the people of Louisiana seriously and is working overtime to make sure this suspect doesn’t have the opportunity to hurt anyone else.”

Williams emphasized that Lewis has a prior federal firearm-related conviction and should be considered armed and dangerous.

“If you encounter this suspect directly or believe someone is in immediate danger, do not approach—call 911 immediately,” DA Williams urged. “We are working closely with local, state, and federal law enforcement to bring him in, but we need the public’s help to do it. The public is the ‘sixth man’ to this public safety fight.”

Crime Stoppers is actively taking any and all information that could help law enforcement locate Lewis.

DA Williams also issued a warning to anyone who may attempt to help Lewis evade capture.

“I want to be clear—harboring, assisting, or helping this fugitive in any way is a crime, and we will prosecute it to the fullest extent of the law,” Williams said. “Aiding Lewis—whether by giving him a place to stay, a ride, or any other assistance—is not worth ruining your life.”
