District Attorney Williams Heads Into Court To Personally Try 2018 Mardi Gras Day Mass Shooting Double Homicide Case

NEW ORLEANS – This week, Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams heads into court alongside Assistant District Attorney Forrest Ladd to try a double homicide case stemming from a shooting that took place on Fat Tuesday evening 2018 in the Lower 9th Ward. Defendant Derrick Groves and Kendall Barnes are facing charges of Second Degree Murder and Attempted Second Degree Murder related to this incident.

“Our hearts and prayers continue to be with the many victims and survivors in this case. We will utilize every legal tool at our disposal to hold the perpetrators of this horrendous act accountable and try to bring some measure of closure to their family members and friends,” said District Attorney Jason Williams.
