DA Williams Releases Statement On Horrific Murder Of 73-Year-Old Linda Frickey
District Attorney Jason Williams said, “What occurred to 73-year-old Linda Frickey was heinous and unthinkable. I can’t help, but think of my own mother and other elders in our community. While we will allow the NOPD to complete a thorough investigation, any and all persons that the evidence shows participated in the murder of this elder will be prosecuted to the absolute fullest extent of the law. I am also renewing my call to the mayor and city council to immediately approve the disbursement of COVID-19 federal funds already at City Hall which were requested by the DA’s Office, along with other law enforcement and nonprofits three months ago at the start of this crime surge. These requests were made to effectively meet the challenge of this current crisis. I will ensure we do our part to fully prosecute anyone that the evidence shows was responsible for this and other horrific violent acts, but we need more resources to deal with this unique surge. We cannot delay deploying these funds sent to our city for this very purpose while the public is being preyed upon.”
