Darren Bridges is facing a First Degree Murder charge

NEW ORLEANS – This week, Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams heads into court to personally try the murder case of New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) Officer Marcus McNeil, alongside Assistant District Attorneys (ADA) Andre’ Gaudin and Simone Levine.

“Our hearts and prayers continue to be with the family and friends of fallen NOPD Officer Marcus McNeil who was killed in the line of duty in the fall of 2017,” said District Attorney Jason Williams.

This case serves as the 5th case that DA Williams has tried in Criminal District Court. Since the resumption of jury trials in March, DA Williams has tried 4 cases in front of juries – 3 homicides and 1 rape – and all resulted in guilty verdicts.
