NEW ORLEANS – Today, District Attorney Jason Williams announced an indictment in a Second Degree Murder case. The Orleans Parish Grand Jury indicted Juanita Adams on one count of Second Degree Murder with a Firearm.
According to NOPD reports, Adams was arrested for the murder of Lorenzo Cortez in December 2021 in the 3100 block of Mistletoe Street.
“There is a current crime surge in New Orleans; with the resumption of jury trials and securing of indictments, we are surging back. This indictment is proof positive of our commitment to holding violent offenders accountable and delivering justice to make our neighborhoods safer,” said DA Williams. “This office has been and will continue to be laser-focused on violent crime and doing everything we possibly can to increase safety and secure justice.”
