The Child Support Enforcement Division of the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office enforces child support orders issued from the Orleans Parish Civil District Court. The OPDA and the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services perform these services pursuant to a cooperative endeavor agreement.
Custodial parents who need assistance establishing the paternity of a minor child, establishing an order of child support, or enforcing an existing order should visit the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services website. The website features all the information and documents needed to begin the process of obtaining assistance.
Child support orders in Orleans Parish are established by Louisiana Child Support Enforcement. More information, and the documents needed to begin, are available on the Louisiana Children and Family Services website. Once a support order is obtained, the case will be forwarded to the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s office for enforcement.
If the DA’s office is assisting with the enforcement of your case, and you have a LASES number (Louisiana Automated Support Enforcement System), you can obtain information by calling our office, or the State Call Center. The State Call Center can provide recent activity on your child support case. If you need to speak with your caseworker, an email will be sent to them and they will respond to you by telephone within 24-48 hours.
